OCCUPATION:

Property manager, small business operator

PREVIOUS POLITICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 2014 Ward 3 candidate;
  • 2019 Federal Election Candidate
  • 2021 Federal election candidate

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT/VOLUNTEER ACTIVITY:

  • Past Skate Canada Central Ontario Section Georgetown Skating Club executive.
  • Past chair/vice-chair at Downtown Georgetown BIA.

I moved to Georgetown in 1998. Small town living at its best is why I raised my family here. Recent and projected residential growth is having an impact on our town. Most people don’t realize this growth is mandated by the province, not invited by the town. It is my promise to minimize the negative aspects while nurturing positive effects. I aim to ensure Georgetown remains a community of values based on mutual respect.

WHAT ARE THE TOP THREE ISSUES FACING THE TOWN/WARD?:

  • Affordable housing. Local government must reduce unnecessary red tape to increase affordable housing in a meaningful manner.
  • Infrastructure. Georgetown’s explosive population growth has placed strain on infrastructure. We need a greater blend of public and private service delivery.
  • Accountability. Decisions made in council impact more individuals than ever before. Elected officials must be more engaged with constituents in person, by phone, by email and social media.

IF ELECTED, WHAT I PLAN TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE FIRST 100 DAYS?:

Explosive inflation is making life less affordable. We need an immediate pause on tax increases, while we explore efficiencies to reduce spending.

I believe excellence fosters excellence. Those who work hard with integrity should be promoted to leading roles regardless of colour, religion, gender or sexual orientation. I believe in diversity of opinion and ideas.
